WIC serves babies and children up to age 5, pregnant women, and new mothers. Dads, grandparents, foster parents of young children, and working families are welcome at WIC too!
WIC is a health and nutrition program for growing families. Choosing healthy foods while you're pregnant, learning how to breastfeed and taking care of you and your family's nutrition is a big job. WIC is here to support you. We help families by providing nutrition education, breastfeeding support, healthy foods, and referrals to healthcare and other community services."
The benefits of the WIC Program include:
-
Nutritious foods, such as milk, whole grains, cereal, eggs, fruits and vegetables, peanut butter or beans.
-
Breastfeeding information, support and breastfeeding counselors
-
Infants who are partially or not breastfed may receive iron-fortified formula
-
Nutrition and health information
-
Referrals to health and social services when appropriate
