Homes for Our Neighbors - What if we treated housing like a human right?
In 2020, Olmsted County was forecast to need 18,000 additional units of housing by 2030. With higher growth due to Mayo Clinic’s expansion, the need will be even greater. Olmsted County is a leader in Minnesota for its commitment to locally-owned and -controlled housing. On June 13, come learn more about how Olmsted County is leading, and call on our county commissioners and local partners to dream even bigger to address our community’s urgent need for affordable, healthy, and climate-friendly homes.

April 6 CNG Steering Committee Meeting
CNG has a general oral agreement with DMC, J2G to use Minnesota Compass as a common data source and Wilder Research as the contractor. There has been a verbal agreement with DMC and J2G to work toward using a common set of indicators for broad measures of community economic and social vitality and well-being. In addition, Wilder Research is developing a contract with DMC for the specific indicators that DMC will require. It is anticipated that Journey to Growth will contract with Wilder Research to assist it with the county profiles that it anticipates developing.

Pathways to a Vibrant, Just, and Equitable Rochester
Destination Medical Center and the City of Rochester, in partnership with Griot Arts and Barbershop Talks, invite the community to the next installment of the Equity Alliance Equity Series. This in-person event, titled Pathways to a Vibrant, Just, and Equitable Rochester, will take place on Wednesday, December 11, at 11:30 a.m. at the Chateau Theatre. The program will feature a dynamic panel discussion moderated by Nicole Asong Nfonoyim-Hara.

What can Rochester's local Black history teach us about how to center equity and racial justice today? What role does history play in how we understand and confront current issues of equity? Andre Crockett Sr. and Nicole Nfonoyim-Hara explore lessons from the new traveling exhibit Still We Rise: Rochester's Black Legacy. The exhibit is a showcase of the key leaders and events that have shaped the local community and its history.
