Rochester – Resistance, Voice, and Verse: A Latino Poetry Reading

Join us for a special Poetry Month celebration of Latino poetry at the Rochester Public Library! This engaging event will feature readings of powerful poems, and opportunities for discussion and reflection. Students from Rochester Public Schools will read poems from the recently released anthology, “Latino Poetry: The Library of America Anthology” as well as their original work, and the event will be emceed by City of Rochester Poet Laureate, Jean Prokott.

Class Description: Learn about mental wellness, mental illnesses, diagnostic assessments and treatment plans. This one and a half to two-hour workshop is presented in English and is designed for African-American, Somali and Latinx communities interested in learning more about mental health.
